The Blazer nameplate returns to the Chevy lineup in the form of a five-passenger crossover built on a platform shared with the Cadillac XT5 and GMC Acadia. Those expecting a reincarnation of the truck-like / off-road Blazer sold from 1982 through 2005 may be disappointed as the new model is designed primarily for pavement, although an off-road model could come later. For 2019, the Blazer is offered with two powertrain options - 2.5-litre 4-cyl. / 6-speed automatic, 3.6-litre V6 / 9-speed automatic - available with either FWD or AWD.
