Returning to the mid-size truck market after a 7-year hiatus is Ford with an all-new Ranger. Built in Michigan, the new Ranger is based on Ford's T6 global mid-size truck architecture originally conceived by Ford of Australia. Fully-boxed frame rails were incorporated for North American models to increase payload capacity and improve crashworthiness. One powertrain is on offer: 2.3-litre EcoBoost 4-cylinder (270 hp / 310 lb-ft.) married to a 10-speed automatic. Three trims are available: XL, XLT and Lariat. Of note, all Canadian-market Rangers come with standard 4WD.
